Good morning,
I will be posting a day early today due to weather conditions deteriorating at some point. I encourage everyone to stay home when the winter weather arrives. I've seen so many forecasts in the last few days that I'm unsure what to expect. Please watch the weather and check on your neighbors and pets during this winter weather event.
Today is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. I want to recognize our deputies and the Fordyce Police Department officers. I never take these men and women for granted. Their commitment and work ethic are second to none in keeping our community safe. As I've said, no one understands their sacrifices to do this job. Those sacrifices include their families, who sacrificed as well. If you see one of these officers out, please take a moment to thank them for their service.
We assisted Grant County yesterday in a high-speed pursuit that entered our county from the north. Dallas County, along with the Arkansas State Police, deployed spike strips to disable the fleeing vehicle. The suspects were taken into custody without injury or damage to our patrol units. I can't say the same for the suspect's vehicle.
Please stay safe if you have to get out on the road!
