Good Afternoon Everyone,
I am posting a little early this week. I hope everyone has had a good week.
This past weekend, we were glad to see everyone who turned out for the Fordyce on the Cottonbelt Festival. It was a nice sunny day and everyone I've talked to this week said that they had a good time.
We need to commend all who volunteered their time and applaud their efforts in making the Festival a success every year. A special thanks goes out to James Luff and Clark Brent for their help at Cottonbelt.
Deputy Johnny Rucker really put a lot of time and effort into helping get everything set up, cleaned up and ready for us to enjoy ourselves. He spent Sunday and Monday this week cleaning up the tents, bleachers, stage area and trash from around the courthouse. He has also had a crew cleaning up Highway 229, and parts of Highway 8. He worked on Graham, Abernathy, the West end of 4th street. 128 also got some attention this week. In addition to all the cleaning up, he's found time to supervise the mowing and weed eating at the Sheriff's Office. I cannot sing Rucker's praises enough. I can always depend on him to take care of business.
