Good morning,
I wanted to let everyone know that we received information this morning from three individuals who received telephone calls from persons representing themselves as Dallas County Deputies. These callers advise that there is a warrant for their arrest and threaten them with arrest if they do not send money immediately.
Please, know that we DO NOT operate in this manner. Anyone asking you to send money using this method is trying to scam you. They can sound convincing and may even know some of your personal information.
To ease your fears, if you receive this type of phone call Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., hang up and call the Dallas County Sheriff's Office at 870-352-2002 and select Option 4. If the call is not during office hours call the same number 870-352-2002 select Option 3 for the dispatch center and let them know you've received what you believe is a scam call. They will be able to confirm the call is a scam.
The Arkansas Attorney General's Office should be contacted if you wish to file a report. Scams may be reported to the AG's office by emailing consumer@ArkansasAG.gov or submitting the Robocall or Scam Call Reporting Form. Consumers who have lost money due to a scam should file a consumer complaint online or call (800) 482-8982.
