SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 10/18/2024

Good morning,

I can finally say I hope everyone is staying warm! Now, if we could only have a bit of rain to accompany this cooler weather.

I'm going back to last Friday after my weekly post. We had a circuit court on Friday that lasted most of the day. There was standing room only in the courtroom. The good news is that many cases were adjudicated and wrapped up with sentencing. Here are last Friday's

Circuit Court results:

7 cases were Nolle Prossed by the State

Rainey, Elgreco pled guilty to Possession of Controlled Substance and No Contest to Terroristic Threatening sentenced to ASP

Schmitt, Jay pled guilty to Possession of Controlled Substance x 2 and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and was sentenced to 5 years Probation

Herring, Ira pled guilty to Furnishing/Possessing/Using Prohibited Articles sentenced to 3 years ADC 3 Years SIS

Curtis, Robert Jr pled guilty to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia sentenced to 3 year's Probation and had the charge of Theft of Scrap Metal Nolle Prossed

Collins, Jamario pled guilty to Battery 2nd sentenced to 6 years SIS

I want to recognize a recent incident where the Fordyce Police Department and Sheriff's Department worked closely together to solve two recent burglaries. Earlier this month, a local business was burglarized, and numerous items were stolen. Sergeant Jordan Ables and Fordyce Police Officers developed suspects and worked through the night culminating in arrest warrants for the suspects. After several interviews were conducted, many of the stolen items were recovered. This is just another example of what working together means to our community. I am extremely proud of the accomplishments made this year.

Mr. Rucker and his crew had a busy week as always. This week started off with trash pickup on CR 209, and 208. 136, Palmetto Road, River Road at Sparkman, Highway 9 north at the county line to Highway 48 to Leola. At the end of the week, all trash bags were picked up from the week's work.
