SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE 11/22/2024

Writer's picture: Mike KnoedlMike Knoedl

Good morning,

I hope everyone is gearing up for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. It's that time of year when we give thanks for all we are blessed with and spend time with family and friends. I never take how blessed I am for granted, and I thank God daily!

I want to remind everyone that we are having our annual Shop with A Cop program for Christmas again this year. Last year, we raised over $7000 and were able to provide assistance to more than 20 children. I am so proud of everyone who participated in this event. The shopping spree wouldn't have gone nearly as smoothly without the participation of the management and employees at our local WalMart. They really went all out to assist us. The joy on those children's faces made everything worthwhile. The kids picked out everything from clothing and shoes to toys, bikes, and fishing poles.

Remember, even $5 can help out. You don't have to break your budget to participate. Go to FBT bank, here in Fordyce, and mention that you want to donate to the Shop with a Cop program, and the tellers will assist you with your contribution. We will divide the donations equally among the children to be used as they choose at WalMart. If you know of a family in need, please get in touch with me or my assistant, Penny, at 870-352-2002 and we will get the family added to the list. For those choosing to donate, I would like to thank you in advance for assisting families struggling during the holidays. You can really make a difference in these children's lives.

Mr. Rucker took a few days off for deer hunting last week but was back hard at work this week. He and his crew picked up trash on County Road 121, Barner Road, on Highway 273 from Ramsay cutoff to Highway 9. They also cleaned the football field and repaired a fence at the courthouse. As usual, they have been busy trying to beautify our County.
