SHERIFF MIKE KNOEDL - WEEKLY UPDATE

Updated: Oct 1, 2023

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone is doing well this week!

This week has been busy with meetings for me. It seems they have been never-ending from business here at the jail to being on the phone the other half of the time.

With that said, my report will not be as lengthy as usual. I will be attending a retirement party for a close friend who is retiring from the Arkansas State Police after 30 years of service. You know who you are. I hope he enjoys it as much as I did for six years before losing my mind and running for Sheriff. Seriously, I am proud to be your sheriff now even though it is taxing some days. I know we continue to make a difference in our county each day.

I am proud to announce that my detention deputies have attended a 56 hour jailer course presented by ALETA. They will only have to finish the CPR/First Aid portion and then will be fully certified jailers. I am proud of all of them for their continued dedication to making our detention center run smoothly.

I want to remind everyone that Dallas County is currently under a burn ban. It's been so dry that it isn't safe to have fires outdoors right now.

Since we're finishing our second week of the new school year, I want to take a moment to remind everyone to pay attention when around school buses and bus stops. Our children are vulnerable standing by the roadside waiting on buses or crossing the street to get on the buses. Please be extra vigilant when children and buses are present.

Last week, our monthly Circuit Criminal Court was held and the following cases were adjudicated:

Lawson, Christopher, Revocation of Probation of Breaking/Entering and Theft of Property, 1 year added Probation

Blackmon, Clayton Thomas, Commercial Burglary, 10 years Probation

Grace, Lauren Nicole, Theft of Property (3 counts), 5 years Probation

Lucas, David, Possession of a Controlled Substance, 5 years Probation

Allen, Latoucha, Revocation of Criminal Mischief, 6 years Probation and 90 days in the County Jail

Now let's move on to Felony Friday:

Oakley, Xavier, of Fordyce, Possession of Schedule VI with purpose to deliver (2 counts), Contempt of Court, Failure to Appear

Scott, Eric Lamar, of Rison, Contempt Failure to Pay

White, Nicole, of Hampton, Absconding

Falls, Sonseeahar, of Fordyce, Contempt Failure to Pay

Warren, Dareion, of Fordyce, Contempt Failure to Pay

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe. Stay hydrated. Check on your elderly loved ones and provide ample clean water for pets.

God Bless You,

Mike Knoedl Dallas County Sheriff
